Layers of different civilisations have made of Sicily a unique area where you can see history unfold: from Fenician ruins to Byzantine mosaics; from Greek temples to Norman forteresses and baroque churches. Then there is the landscape: what starking contrasts! Luscious vegetation next to deserted and rugged mountains; sheer cliffs drop into the clearest sea; ….and the flowers…. and the perfumes …. and the food!
